HIGHLAND WARRIOR goes so well in soft ground and is taken to complete the four-timer here at the main expense of Regal Royale and Killer Class. With some interesting rivals such as John Keats, Hotham and Divine Spirit all at their best on quicker ground, we need to side with a horse who loves it when the mud is flying and so we turn to Highland Warrior. Earlier in the season he was the class act in selling company, but with his confidence regained he has been able to win a competitive handicap since and can defy a 5lb rise in the weights today. Ice Planet is interesting as he is on a good mark and this track will suit more than the Roodee last time, Prince Namid likes this ground and is well-weighted on old form, whilst The Bear needs to bounce back from a poor Thirsk effort. The Nifty Fox needs watching in the betting as he is hit and miss but pretty good on a good day, whilst Killer Class sneaks in at the bottom of the weights and along with recent winner Regal Royale rates as a danger to all. A tough sprint handicap, with preference for Highland Warrior.
