The Mick Channon team have turned the corner of late and can pick up again with Hallhoo, who looks a useful type for this sort of contest and is selected over Comic Strip and Looks Could Kill. That said, Gypsy Johnny made and eye catching debut at Beverley and could figure strongly here if repeating the effort. The ease in the ground will not be a problem for him and a bold bid could be on the cards. However, he faces no easy task on his handicap bow and others make more appeal. Comic Strip has to be considered after his game success at Chester last week. Nevertheless, he may not want the ground to be too soft and also faces a stiff test at the weights. Looks Could Kill is weighted to get closer to the selection after going down fighting at Haydock a fortnight ago. However, Hallhoo comfortably had his measure on that day and, as he appears to be at the top of his game at the moment, he can atone for that narrow defeat today.
