Royal Regent is a standing dish around here having won five times from 30 starts though he generally needs his first run back, a remark that also applies to the very consistent Ayr Poet. Smart Connection's three victories have come on Polytrack though he had some decent form on soft ground last summer but Ralphy Boy Two's placed efforts in the autumn came in low-grade events. Markazi is back on the same mark as his last success and his rider's claim is a plus but CLANSMAN failed to fire on quicker going here last month after scoring on soft at Redcar and there should be enough juice in the ground for him here.
