In depth

Verdict

A dual-course and distance winner, Eastern Magenta clearly likes the Scottish air. He has more to do off this 6lb higher mark, but his win here last month looked an improved effort and there may be more to come. There are plenty of dangers including Desert Trapper, who found the ground too fast for him at Sandown. Back on this easier ground, he looks sure to run well, as does Bandit Queen, who proved she handles cut in the ground, when a close-up fifth behind the useful Sir Edwin Landseer on her debut at Newbury.
