In depth

Verdict

QUICK WILL is our idea of the most likely victor although Son Of Flicka and Kealshore Boy are likely to be figuring on many shortlist. James Ewart's charge appears to appreciate the hustle and bustle of big fields and what he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in application. Son Of Flicka has squandered better opportunities than this in the past though his yard are in form and he cannot be written off just yet. Kealshore Boy won at Wetherby in fine style and has not been harshly dealt with by the handicapper. Glingerbank is proven under ground conditions and is sure to give a bold account. Terenzium has performed well in similar contests and while softer ground may suit better, his stable have gone close on a couple of occasions already this week. Benmadigan looked a smart novice though has struggled of late. Baaher is not straight forward though is in off a very low racing weight. Rose Dobbin had a winner on Thursday so a note of Modicum's performance in the pre-race market is advised. Pontop is on a belated seasonal reappearance and with his form on a faster surface, he could be somewhat fresher than most. Quick Will has plenty to like about him at this level and he is a confident selection.
