SAMMY SPIDERMAN has shown improved form for Alistair Whillans in his last two starts with placed efforts at Kelso and Newcastle and he can defy a 4lb rise for the latest of those efforts, getting the vote over Ocarina and Justtheoneforyou. Malcolm Jefferson's gelding had been running well prior to disappointing when pulled up Doncaster in December but he ran better at Newcastle last month and should be thereabouts again. Lucinda Russell's Nelliedonethat ran below par at Ludlow last time and is probably best left out of calculations now, while Livingonaknifedge is hard to recommend on recent form but any market support for him would be of interest. Waterski has shown improved form of late but that improvement has been noted by the handicapper and he may now be too high in the weights, while Fiftyfive Degrees is probably better over further. James Ewart's Ocarina has run better of late and he looks to have solid claims off the same mark as when a close third at Newcastle last time but marginal preference is for Sammy Spiderman.
