Verdict

Caballero returned a beaten favourite yet again when finishing behind the runner-up COVIGLIA over track and trip a week ago. The latter missed out by only a neck on that occasion and can go one better in first-time cheekpieces. Royal Countess scored over 1m2f here recently but this looks tougher and last month’s Beverley winner Bankawi is preferred. Merricourt is back on a winning mark and a better effort when third here last time suggests he can figure.
