Verdict

Once again, just the five runners, but an interesting contest nonetheless. Only the Queen Mother Champion Chase seventh, and Martell Chase third, Kadarann, is set to race from his proper mark. His last win came when impressively landing the Game Spirit Chase in February, a repetition of which gives him a good chance of scoring again. He is also a course and distance winner. Montreal, who ran a little flat when fourth under a big weight at Aintree over half-a-mile further, is now tried in a first-time visor. Ichi Beau is also a course and distance winner. He should strip fitter for his Aintree run - his first since November - will like the going, but he'll have to put in a career-best effort to land this. A similar comment applies to Korakor, who has also won here in the past. Caitriona's Choice is well out of the handicap proper. Races of this nature can throw up surprises but, all things being equal, Kadarann can get back to winning ways.
