In depth

Verdict

Pete and Dallas Bell both showed plenty of ability when both finished second on their debut. Narrow preference is for Pete, with Letterpress one who needs keeping an eye on. The selection finished second on heavy ground at Sedgfield when he travelled well but failed to pick up on the ground. He will have learnt from that run and whilst this ground may not be ideal, he has at least shown that he gets through it ok and he can put his experience to good use today. Dallas Bell was more of a remote second on his debut but there was plenty of promise to be gleaned from that run, whilst What Luck and Roman Bury are both potential improvers. Letterpress looks the most interesting of the newcomers with his stable startign to fire again; whilst he is young and likely to develop more in the future, with his weight-for-age allowance he cannot be overlooked. Mr Gerrard could be ebst of the rest, however we will side with Pete.
