In depth

Verdict

Connak has shown improvement with each of his three starts, should improve for the longer trip today and the Alner's gelding is given the vote to open his account here, getting the verdict ahead of Buck The Legend and Reidwil. The last mentioned has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated but David Pipe's gelding has shown enough to suggest that he should be thereabouts. Peter Bowen's French import Cadoulor is probably best watched on his British debut, while Coorbawn Vic has had plenty of chances. Jonjo O'Neill's Twilight Eagle is open to improvement after just one start but a bigger danger is likely to come from Buck The Legend, who has shown a consistent level of form. Connak looks to be going the right way though and he is preferred.
