In depth

Verdict

Competition is bred for the Flat so soft ground may not play to his strengths. He ran very well on his debut at Wetherby in March behind a subsequent winner and if the going dries out he would take some beating. Monbeg Aquadude battled to a narrow victory between the flags at Rockfield just over a year ago so he's an interesting entry from Michael Scudamore's yard while Well Joey can improve from his opening bumper run at Newcastle. The remainder with experience have shown little so this can go to the newcomer FERNAN. Malcolm Jefferson's charge is by top jumps stallion Robin Des Champs out of a mare from a very smart family and wouldn't need to be anything special to make a winning start.
