In depth

Verdict

Pieter Brueghel gets the vote in a tricky affair, with Memphis Court, Charles Parnell and Steel Blue just a few others to consider. With Jamie Spencer chasing hard for the title, you can be sure that Pieter Brueghel will be primed to run a big race here. Granted, the Dandy Nichols inmate is fully exposed these days, but he looked in great shape when third in a Sandown claimer in September on his return from a small break, and is well handicapped on form of old. Memphis Court was successful over the course-and-distance here the time before last but has been creeping back up the handicap. He goes on the ground though, and must not be ruled out. Charles Parnell has been in terrific form of late, but has a bit more to do upped in grade, while Steel Blue is on a fair mark at present, and has handled cut in the ground in the past. The market may prove a guide to the rest, but the answer could lie with Pieter Brueghel.
