In depth

Verdict

KINGS GUARD finished a respectable fourth over 2m5f at Hexham last time. Dropped in grade here, Alistair Whillans' hurdler looks capable of scoring off his current mark. Manoubi finished well behind the selection at Hexham and, along with Bob Will, then found Sambelucky too good at Catterick last month. The latter may be capable of better now he has finally got his head in front, but Winter Alchemy makes more appeal after an improved effort at Kelso on his return from a lay-off.
