Makaaseb is the selection with Kay Es Jay and Rinterval holding solid claims. The Michael Jarvis filly took her chances in the Rockfel Stakes last term and was sent off favourite for the prize. With the trainer sending out winners, she is selected to make amends for that short price miss here. Kay Es Jay finished two places ahead of our selection on that occasion. She disappointed first time out this season at Kempton and now has it to prove. Rinterval finished second in the Goffs Million at The Curragh last season. Her performance in the Nell Gwyn this season did not match that level of form. She would need to reverse form with Rosaleen and that looks a difficult ask if that run was anything to go by. My Aunt Fanny took her chance in a fair Kempton maiden and can be expected to improve. Bramaputra is a half sister to Vital Equine so this trip should be right up her street. Applesnap looks outclassed. A race that will generate plenty of future winners and one that can go the way of Makaaseb.
