Verdict

A wide-open renewal. Regal Encore is running in the race for the fifth time. He won in 2020, was second in 2019 and third last year but is rising 15 and likely to find a few of these too fleet-footed. Mister Malarky finished tailed off last year and is only 4lb lower but Good Boy Bobby is only 2lb higher than when landing the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby last season and Danny Kirwan has been lightly raced for his age. Annsam won a Listed handicap over track and trip last December and scored again at Newbury in April while Tea Clipper was well backed on his return to action at Chepstow and only beaten a neck by a race-fit rival. KITTY’S LIGHT was tailed off in that contest but Christian Williams’ gelding will have come on a bundle for the run and can confirm Scottish Grand National form with Major Dundee, though the latter goes well fresh. Our Power may be best of the rest.
