GHALY (NAP) ran well from a modest draw on his reappearance here last month. A winner on soft going at Newmarket in the autumn, he is preferred to Major Partnership of the two Godolphin runners and could be the answer to a trick puzzle. Empirestateofmind only beat one home behind Lattam at Newcastle but today’s conditions will be much more in his favour and he rates a threat. Rodaballo has form on soft ground and is a rare Spanish-trained runner in the country while the three-year-old Lowton is on an upward curve. The returning Akhu Najla is worth a market check given his yard is more than capable of getting one ready at home.
Rodaballo (9-0) 4th of 14, 6l behind Al Suhail (9-0) at Meydan 7f stks fst in Mar.
Ghaly 9-1 (9-4) Tracked leaders far side, ridden and every chance over 2f out, weakened final furlong, 13th of 30, 12 1/2l behind Jimi Hendrix (9-5) at Ascot 1m hcp (2) gd in Jun.

Empirestateofmind (IRE) 10-1 (9-7) Tracked leaders, pushed along over 1f out, weakened final furlong, 9th of 10, 2 1/2l behind Lattam (9-0) at Newcastle 1m hcp (2) pol in Jun.

Mr Mistoffelees (IRE) 40-1 (8-10) Chased leaders, went 2nd halfway, led inside final 3f, ridden and headed turning in, weakened quickly over 2f out, eased when no chance, 17th of 19, dist behind Desert Hero (8-13) at Ascot 1m 4f hcp stks (2) gd in Jun.
Lowton 5-4fav (9-11) Tracked leaders, pushed along over 2f out and no impression, ridden over 1f out, stayed on strongly inside last to lead final strides, won at Newcastle 7f stks (5) pol in Jun beating Gotta Show Me (8-13) by shd, 8 ran.
