A market check for both newcomers is required while something was presumably wrong with Brown Diamond when tailed-off in the Cheshire Oaks at the Chester Cup meeting and not seen since. Her maiden form was strong and she'll be of real interest if all is well with her and the booking of Ryan Moore indicates stable confidence. Blue Waltz is certainly good enough to pick up a run-of-the-mill maiden on the back of a pleasing debut and it may well come here. However, SOLAR MAGIC houses the best form on offer, having finished third on only her second career start when beaten a head and a neck in a good conditions race at this track with some useful sorts behind on the last day of April. The absence is a concern but John Gosden is an absolute master at bringing charges back from a break and the Pivotal filly is taken to break her maiden.
