Last year's winner Danakil is sure to have been prepared for a repeat and gets a narrow vote over King Revo, High Point and Montmartre. Simon Dow's charge defied an eight pound rise when scoring in this event 12 months ago and has not been successful since. He can now race off a two pound lower mark and lines up on the back of a comeback fourth to Hambleden at Kempton from five pound out of the handicap. That first run in over three months should have blown the cobwebs away and the eight-year-old should go close. Talking of comebacks, King Revo defied a three-and-a-half month absence when winning a similar event at Haydock and as one of the youngsters here, has a bit more scope than most. He is on the short-list along with High Point, but he would ideally prefer a longer trip. Of the rest, Montmartre is worth a mention but has a five pound penalty to overcome for his latest win at Yarmouth where he was given a good ride by Hayley Turner. For the winner, we nominate Danakil to follow up last year's success.
