Verdict

The Irish contingent launch a strong challenge with Stratum bidding to win this for the third time reunited with last year’s winning partner William Buick. Falcon Eight could only manage fourth last season and the Cesarewitch winner Run For Oscar is preferred but DAWN RISING returned to the Flat with a good third in a Group 3 race over 1m6f at Leopardstown last month. This extra test of stamina will suit and Ryan Moore takes over the reins sporting the McManus colours. Goshen is another smart hurdler returning to the level while Typewriter is upped from 1m6f. The Grand Visir struggled over 2m4f in the Ascot Stakes here earlier in the week.
