Verdict

Very few fillies have contested this race for potential stayers but ESTIMATE is being allowed to take her chance against the colts today and could easily come out on top. Bred by the Aga Khan, she's a half-sister to Irish Oaks and French St Leger winner Ebadiyla and Gold Cup winner Enzeli so should relish the step up to 2m having opened her account over 1m4f at Salisbury on just her second racecourse appearance. Athens is probably the form pick on his fifth in a Group 2 at Longchamp last month and should last home while Leopardstown second Macbeth and Epsom Derby seventh Minimise Risk are also interesting. Singalat and Spanish Wedding have plenty of stamina in their respective pedigrees but this is a tough ask and Yazdi, who looked a stayer in the making at Thirsk, has more scope. Perennial may not stay and Repeater makes his reappearance but that's not normally a problem for his stable's runners and he could threaten the places.
