          Verdict

          A competitive renewal of this valuable handicap. Watching caught the eye when finding trouble in running before a strong finishing second at Epsom and bids for compensation off a 7lb lower mark. Doctor Spin is back on a winning mark and looks ready to justify strong ante-post support after staying-on over an inadequate 5f on his last two starts. Both Flying Millie and Antonio Canova were progressive types last season and both should be sharper for their recent return while Border Subject is a bold front runner who should go well in his bid to complete a hat-trick from a reasonable draw.
