The King's Stand shortlist contains Tax Free, Moss Vale, La Cucaracha, The Trader and Takeover Target, with the vote going to Tax Free. Let's take it from the top. With Australia having had success in this race in recent times, their speedball representative, Takeover Target has to be granted plenty of respect today. Glamour Puss also runs for the Antipodeans. Moss Vale has already landed an Irish Group 3 and a French Group 2 this season and, much as he has, accordingly, got a penalty to carry today, he comes here at the top if his game and can go well. Benbaun has a length to find with him from that Irish race based on today's revised terms. The Temple Stakes winner, Reverence, is also respected although The Trader is weighted to get his revenge today from that race and is another to consider. Majestic Missile has to be respected on his best 2005 form, but Pivotal Point is held by Moss Vale on French form as is, theoretically, Tax Free, but he is a horse that we feel can make up into possibly the best British five-furlong horse so he gets a very favourable mention, even though he is also held by Pivotal Point on Palace House Stakes form - the pair of them being entitled to get the better of the winner that day, Dandy Man. Balthazaar's Gift was also behind Moss Vale in France but last season's Nunthorpe winner, La Cucaracha, is entitled to some thought from her in-form stable. She had The Tatling, Majestic Missile, Boogie Street and Benbaun in second, third, fourth and fifth, respectively, that day, so holds good claims again today. It is, overall, a very competitive race, with our choice being Tax Free.
