A high-class renewal of this Group 1. INSPIRAL was the stand-out performer among last year’s juvenile fillies. She easily beat Cachet and Prosperous Voyage, 1-2 in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, in her final start in the Fillies Mile in October and will not surrender her unbeaten record easily if she is fully wound-up after a setback. Cachet was only beaten a head by Mangoustine in the French 1,000 Guineas after her classic victory and won’t be far away again but she was only fourth behind Pizza Bianca in the Breeders’ Cup Fillies’ Turf at Del Mar in the autumn. Spendarella has also made the trip over the States having landed the odds in a Grade 2 at Keeneland in April to extend her unbeaten record. Sandrine, Discoveries and Tenebrism all finished unplaced in the 1000 Guineas but Grande Dame looked useful when making a winning debut over track and trip and it was probably a lack of experience which cost her a follow-up victory in a Listed race at York.
