In depth

Verdict

Wesley Ward has enjoyed plenty of success with two-year-old runners here and Keeneland winner Kaufymaker will likely blaze a trail at the head of affairs. Ballydoyle have sent out four of the last 10 winners and The Acropolis won nicely at Listowel but compatriot MASSETO gets another chance. Donnacha O’Brien’s colt made a winning debut before running into trouble on more than one occasion in a Group 2 at the Curragh though he still finished second and a bold bid is expected. Frankie partners Yarmouth maiden winner Tolstoy rather than stablemate Dhabab while Ebro River has shown bags of pace in landing a double over the minimum trip including a Listed race at Sandown last time. Gisburn bolted-up at Newbury last month while York winner The Organiser could go well at a price.
