Verdict

BATTAASH goes well fresh and won this in good style on last year’s seasonal debut. He ended 2020 with a defeat of Que Amoro in the Nunthorpe at York and Charlie Hill’s charge is the one to beat. The progressive three-year-old Winter Power deserves a chance at this level having returned to action with a victory in Listed company at York while Oxted won last year’s July Cup at Newmarket though hasn’t matched that form in three subsequent starts. Frankie takes over the reins on US raider Extravagant Kid, who landed a Group 1 at Meydan in March under Ryan Moore. The latter partners Keep Busy, who finished behind stablemate Liberty Beach at Haydock recently and John Quinn’s sprinter also beat Maven in a Group 3 at Goodwood last term.
