Verdict

This race has proved a decent stepping stone for potential stayers in the past and Havisham shouldn't be fazed by dropping back from 2m. He's run well in all three races so far on this track and seems sure to be thereabouts again. But it's hard to get away from the fast-improving PERESTROIKA (NAP), who has Olivier Peslier doing the steering. He's been raised 8lb since an easy win at Windsor but a return to faster ground is in his favour and there is probably a bit more in the locker. Polarisation was behind Havisham over course and distance last month and this is a big step up for the hat-trick seeking Percy Veer but My Reward, Shell Bay and Quest For Wonder could all figure on their best form.
