Verdict

DOUBLE UP had Boom The Groom behind when a staying-on second to Ridge Ranger at Goodwood. Much improved this season, he won well over this course and distance earlier and can defy a further 4lb rise in the weights granted luck in-running. Robert Cowell sent out the top-class Goldream to land this last year and saddles both Green Door, under Jamie Spencer, and Kerrin McEvoy's mount Secretinthepark but neither make much appeal. Mark Johnston's pair Midlander, who is also engaged in the finale, and Indescribable would have a chance if getting a run from their reserve spots, however, and Dungannon has the past form to figure. Justice Day has been highly tried this year and could appreciate this drop in grade.
