Group 2 winner Israr disappointed at Kempton last time and is penalised once again. But Al Aasy fared better under a penalty when runner-up at Leopardstown last time having won a Group 3 at Haydock earlier. Al Qareem returned to winning ways on slower ground at Chester with L'astronome back in third and there may be more to come from the latter on only his second start for new connections but Fortino was well beaten on his debut for the Gosdens’ yard and cheekpieces are applied. CLAYMORE (NAP) hasn’t raced since May but has every chance on these terms if staying the longer trip having won the Hampton Court Stakes over 1m2f here in 2022 and he gets the vote.
