BENANDONNER got shuffled back at Goodwood and powered home for fourth but with a better pitch today he can see off Vainglory and repeat his win of 2007 in this race. Mike Murphy's gelding runs the track well which is a plus as some don't seem to handle the surface and whilst his mark of 90 is high enough there is little doubt that he will run well as a straight-forward son of Giant's Causeway who needs little getting used to. Vainglory drops back to a mile and a strongly run race on quick ground suits, whilst Set The Trend is edging back down to a fair mark but is still reeling from the wrath of the handicapper's reaction to a Haydock second last May. Marajaa comes from off the pace and isn't out of it, a comment that also applies to the front-running Dunn'o and the fairly-handicapped Dubai Dynamo. Vitznau is a hostage to fortune given his running style, and along with the course winner Good Again is passed over.
