ERMYN LODGE looks the safest option in an open affair. She won three of her four starts last season including two over C&D but, more importantly, she goes well fresh so Pat Phelan's filly gets the nod. My Arch will have come on for his recent pipe-opener and is only 2lb higher than when winning at Newmarket in August, while 1m6f winner Zigato has scope for further progress over this longer trip. The same comment applies to Cat O'Nine Tails, who won three times last season, while Muzo has improved on the all-weather this year but is having his first start on turf today. Salontyre and Gee Gee Nen have been in good form over the jumps and are others to consider.
