In depth

Verdict

TOOLAIN won a Listed event here last summer, but the 1m1f in the Feilden at Newmarket stretched his stamina on his reappearance. Back down in trip here and making his handicap debut, Roger Varian's colt could prove too good for the progressive Acclamazing. The latter had notched up a hat-trick at Wolverhampton before going in again at Newmarket last month and has every chance despite a 9lb hike in the weights. Unbeaten two-year-old Vanguard Dream has been unlucky to come up against the likes of Frankel and Dubawi Gold in two starts this year and has obvious claims, while there should also be more to come from Coeus stepping up in trip. Winter's Night has won at this track but will need to be fighting fit for her seasonal debut.
