MAJOR MILLER, Valhalla Vision and Mizen Raven form our short-list in a fiercely competitive finale. Nicky Henderson has made such a good start to the season that the lightly raced Major Miller is almost a default selection when faced with such a difficult puzzle. The son of Opera Ghost proved that he retains his ability after an absence of over two years with a decent run at Bangor and he's taken to step up on that now handicapping. Valhalla Vision may be able to provide a rare winner over hurdles for Richard Hughes and it's interesting that the jockey deems him worth riding here. He steps into handicap company for the first time and should be better suited by these conditions than those he encountered last time. Pickamus may fare better with Richard Johnson taking over from an inexperienced conditional whilst General Ledger has possibilities if building on his second to Gray Mountain when last in action. Quaddick Lake and Tom Knows should be monitored for support and could well step up on recent efforts but we'll play it safe and stick with Major Miller.
