Verdict

This looks wide open but Sir Ivan is entitled to be thereabouts on last season's consistent form. The lightly-raced Perform won the maiden on this card 12 months ago and Great Try could feature as he had some decent form the season before last and likely to be ready for this. Born Survivor has only been beaten once so far and that was in a Grade 2 on heavy going so he warrants respect. Templehills is worth a try in this higher grade and Jacks Last Hope has racked up a couple of wins this summer, though may be vulnerable in a race like this. Cardinal Walter represents last year's winning yard but Buywise is probably having a pipe-opener before going back over fences. DUKE STREET is only four but was a revelation when upped in trip at Newbury in April and far from disgraced back over 2m at Sandown subsequently. He could give his older rivals a run for their money.
