    Verdict

An interesting handicap chase that can be taken by Lord On The Run, while Consigliere and Abutilon are dangers. The Patrick Haslam-trained selection races over his optimum trip here, and he came back after a six month absence with a good ground handicap hurdle win at Wetherby last month. He generally jumps fences well and looks to have been kept back for a spring campaign, and he looks capable of winning from this mark. Consigliere was a soft ground Newton Abbot chase winner last month and is now stepped back up in trip. He was not stopping that day and he has handled good ground before so he clearly has a decent chance despite top weight. Abutilon is 4lb higher than when beaten over fences in December and had a pipe opener at Fontwell last month after a lengthy break. He should come on for that here and would not be a shock winner. Aggie's Lad is a potential Tony Martin plot horse and is very much respected coming from that yard, while Copper Bay just looks a shade too high in the weights after a Market Rasen win in April. Lord On The Run is the one for us here.
