In depth

Verdict

SHISHKIN will be a very short price to extend his unbeaten record over fences and win for the ninth time in 10 career starts. He easily landed the odds in the Arkle at Cheltenham and, though the second did nothing for the form over 2m4f here on Thursday, faces lesser opposition today. Gumball has the highest rating among the others but his yard is struggling for winners so second spot can go to Funambule Sivola, who has won a couple of handicaps recently with the minimum of fuss and is now 4-6 over the larger obstacles. Elvis Mail makes more appeal than Longhouse Sale of the others.
