In depth

Formwatch

Kingsmark (IRE) Has been disappointing since winning Edward Hamner Chase at Haydock in November but should relish any further rain.

Arctic Camper Runner-up to Florida Pearl in the 1997 Cheltenham Festival Bumper and boasts solid form both over hurdles and fences; Beat Grand National fancy Beau over a year ago and this is his first outing since; goes well fresh as all his wins have come after a break; officially rated 140 on this, his handicap debut, but remember, he was only beaten five lengths by Florida Pearl in that Cheltenham race a long time ago but Willie Mullins' star is currently rated around 166 over fences; Arctic Camper is 26lb lower here which must surely make him a potential blot in the handicap.

Jolly Green Giant (IRE) Winner of all four starts over fences and open to further improvement; will need to on ground that may be on the fast side and at this tougher level.

Simply Dashing (IRE) Formerly a high class chaser and a winner here over timber; has clearly deteriorated since as his run in a hunters' chase here last month would testify.

Paperising Rated top prospect when successful for trainer's late father in April 1998; this is his time of year; bolted up last two starts; clearly in great heart and open to further improvement.

Galant Moss (FR) Ex-French winner over hurdles and dual winner over fences this season; jumping suspect at times but each-way chance granted clear round.

Castle Sweep (IRE) Smart performer over hurdles; four-times winner over fences who gave a glimmer of his old form when third at Newbury last time.

Royale De Vassy (FR) Tough and consistent ex-French mare who needs to improve to feature at this level.

Atavistic (IRE) Useful on his day but has a mind of his own and cannot be trusted implicitly.

Misty Class (IRE) Scottish Grand National entry who stays all day; plenty on plate at this level.

Prancing Blade Runs here instead of in the novices' chase on Friday; hard to win with but not badly handicapped

Ballysicyos (FR) Another French import who won a couple of small races earlier in the season; more to do here.

Hoh Express Decent sort in his own right but off the track for more than two years; stamina limitations.

Gingembre (FR) Useful ex-French horse who finished runner-up in the Hennessy last November; has had jumping problems since but cannot be ruled out.

Native Charm (IRE) Developed into smart chaser last season but lost way this term; totally umproven over the trip.

Ad Hoc (IRE) Hype horse at the start of the season but has failed to live up to expectations; well treated as a result but has not achieved enough to be backed with any real confidence.

Honey Mount Former Alec Stewart inmate on the flat who gained biggest success in last season's Kim Muir at Cheltenham Festival; Robert Walford, who boasts a 100 percent strike-rate on the 10-year-old takes the mount.

Bouchasson (FR) Has yet to reproduce the form that saw him thrash Function Dream at the 1999 Punchestown Festival; if he does, then he would be well treated.
