World champions Fiji won the Dubai Sevens on Saturday with a 28-17 victory over England.

Fiji blew away Simon Amor's side in the first half after falling behind to an early Tom Bowen try.

Savenaca Rawaca, Jasa Veremalua, Jerry Tuwai and Isake Katonibau grabbed Fiji's four tries for a 28-7 lead at the break.

England rallied with late second half tries through Phil Burgess and a second score for Bowen but it was not enough.

"It is an amazing feeling when you get to win a tournament, especially in Dubai in front of so many fans," said captain Osea Kolinsau. "There's a feeling of relief in the team.

"The game of sevens is getting harder. There are no easy games ahead and we are grateful to have won here."
