Bristol recorded an away win over Pau while the Dragons beat Worcester in the Challenge Cup on Friday night.

Worcester suffered a miserable night in south Wales as their European Challenge Cup quarter-final hopes were dented by Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade.

The Warriors were beaten 22-7 by the Dragons and also had back row forward Sam Betty sent off midway through the first half.

Reduced to 14 men for more than an hour - Betty received a red card from referee David Wilkinson following a flare-up involving both sets of forwards - Worcester were undone by second-half tries from Dragons substitute Tyler Morgan and prop Sam Hobbs.

Connor Braid converted his own try to give Worcester an early lead, but that was soon cancelled out by a Tavis Knoyle touchdown that Angus O'Brien converted, with O'Brien adding another conversion and penalty.

It meant the Warriors dropped to the bottom of Pool Three, while Brive beat Enisei-STM 38-18 in France to remain top of the group.

A comfortable home win was never in doubt after Brive scored three first-half tries, while their opponents did not help their cause by having three players sin-binned.
