Scotland prop Ryan Grant has joined Worcester from Glasgow with immediate effect.

Grant was part of the Glasgow side which won the Guinness PRO12 title in 2015 but he said on Wednesday that the time had come for a change of scenery.

The 31-year-old, who went on the Lions tour to Australia, was linked with a loan move to French side Brive earlier this month after spending a long spell on the injured list with arm and back problems.

He said: "I am delighted to be at Sixways and I am hungry to get out on the pitch and help the side during some very important matches over the second-half of the season.

"The Aviva Premiership is a fierce league and I am looking forward to the challenge of going head to head with some of the best props in the world."

Worcester coach Carl Hogg added: "Ryan possesses an abundance of experience at the highest level of the game and has been successful in club and international rugby.
