Exeter Chiefs prop Tomas Francis has been banned for two weeks after pleading guilty to a charge of kicking Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care.

Francis appeared before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel on Wednesday in Bristol after being sent off by referee Matthew Carley during Exeter's 36-25 win over Quins on Saturday.

He was alleged to have kicked Care and made contact with his head, with the incident being referred to the Television Match Official before the red card was shown.

Francis admitted his guilt and will not be available to return until October 3, missing Aviva Premiership clashes with Bristol and Northampton.

Disciplinary panel chairman Gareth Graham said: "The panel found this a low-end offence due to the fact that it was a glancing reckless contact between Francis' shin and the back of Danny Care's head which caused no injury."
