Will Chudley has been cleared to play for Exeter in this Saturday's Premiership final against Saracens, but the Chiefs will be without Thomas Waldrom after he suffered a serious knee injury.

Scrum-half Chudley had been cited following an incident in the Chiefs' 34-23 semi-final win over Wasps, but the charge was dismissed allowing Chudley to run out at Twickenham this weekend.

However, Waldrom has been ruled out for 12 weeks after he suffered damage to his medial ligament in the same match.

Flanker Don Armand admitted four-cap England back-rower Waldrom was "really upset" by the injury blow, but vowed Exeter would bid to lift the title in his honour.

"It's really horrible for someone like 'Tank' especially, who puts so much time and emotion into the team and you can see that by the way he plays," he said.

"We're definitely going to miss him. He's been really upset this week and that just shows what the team means to him.

"There are definitely boys playing for him, as extra emotion and motivation."

Chudley's citing was for allegedly kicking Joe Launchbury but the three-man panel deemed his actions were not reckless.

A statement by the RFU read: "The panel concluded that the contact to Launchbury was caused as a result of Chudley's knee being deflected off the thigh of Wasps prop Matt Mullan.

"It was therefore deemed not reckless, and the charge was dismissed. The panel comprised John Doubleday, Nick Dark and Daniel White (chairman)."

Chudley, 28, has been with the Chiefs since 2012 and will be available for what is the most important match in Exeter club history.
