Sean Fitzpatrick believes Owen Farrell's goal-kicking will be key to the Lions' hopes in New Zealand this summer.
And the former All Blacks captain thinks that - out of all the British and Irish Lions touring party - Farrell would be the one player he would hate to lose.
"[It would be] Owen Farrell, purely for his attitude, he's got a real hardness about him that he's going to need in New Zealand but I think his goal kicking could be crucial," Fitzpatrick told Sky Sports News HQ.
Warren Gatland's 41-man squad will play 10 matches in New Zealand, starting with the New Zealand Provincial Barbarians, before they play the first of three games against the All Blacks on June 24 in Auckland.
Fitzpatrick added: "I think it is the strongest Lions team I have seen, I think he's got a hugely competitive 41 players, despite having few injuries already, I still think they will be very competitive on the field."
However, he believes New Zealand are even better than in 2015 when they won the Rugby World Cup - and that the Lions will have a mountain to climb.
He said: "I think they've gone to another level in terms of what we are seeing in Super Rugby and the whole franchise is a different level above everyone else.
"Although we've got quite a few injuries there are a number of players who are in the best form of their life."
All 10 games of the British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand will be live on Sky Sports, starting June 3
