Bradley Davies to join Ospreys from Wasps next season

Wales lock Bradley Davies is to join Ospreys next season after agreeing to a new three-year deal with the Welsh Rugby Union.

The 29-year-old former Cardiff Blues forward, who has 54 caps, is expected to play his last game for Wasps in the Aviva Premiership play-offs this weekend.

Davies has signed a deal with the WRU through to the 2019 Rugby World Cup and will join up with Warren Gatland's national squad ahead of the friendly against England on May 29 and subsequent tour to New Zealand.

WRU chief executive Martyn Phillips said: "This is an exciting and important announcement for Welsh rugby that is going to benefit the future of our game at both national and regional level.

"It is vital we retain our best talent in Wales but, equally, the ability to attract players back here is important for the game both on and off the field.

"Together with the regions we are creating an environment that is attracting players back and it is great to see Bradley returning to join players such as Jonathan Davies and Dan Lydiate, who have returned to the Welsh game."

Davies said: "I'm really pleased to have signed and to be linking up with the Ospreys. The opportunity to return to Wales was too good to turn down.
