Jerome Kaino will miss New Zealand's Rugby Championship clash with Argentina on October 1 due to a shoulder injury.

However, he will link up with the team for their final game of the tournament against South Africa the following week.

The loose forward left the field in the second half of the All Blacks' 41-13 victory over the Springboks in Christchurch on Saturday after injuring his left shoulder.

The victory helped New Zealand clinch the title with two rounds of games remaining.

A statement on the All Blacks' official website read: "Loose forward Sam Cane and first five-eighths Aaron Cruden will stay in New Zealand as they recover from injury.

"Meanwhile, loose forward Jerome Kaino, who hurt his shoulder in the Test against South Africa on the weekend, will miss the Argentina leg of the trip to continue his rehabilitation in New Zealand, and will join the squad in South Africa."

Centre George Moala [knee] and winger Waisake Naholo [hamstring] have returned from injury and will travel with the team.

Utility back Damian McKenzie, who was not in the original Rugby Championship squad but brought in as injury cover, was included after Cruden was ruled out on Sunday with a groin injury.
