Lock Andrei Ostrikov has signed a new two-year deal with Premiership club Sale Sharks.

The 29-year-old Russia international, who has won 26 caps, joined Sale in 2011 having previously played for French clubs Agen and Aurillac.

"Dimes (Steve Diamond) is a great coach and motivator. He has an old-school approach which helps push you forward all the time," Ostrikov said.

"I am settled here in the north west with my wife Julia and we are now house hunting in Cheshire. We love everything about the area, the countryside and all the advantages of living near the city."

Sharks rugby director Steve Diamond said: "When I first saw Andrei play, I spotted his massive potential.

"He was one of my first signings, and he is a player who gives everything both on and off the field. He plays hard, trains hard and never takes a backward step.
