Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond has been charged with verbally abusing match officials by the RFU.
The incident occurred following Sale's 13-10 win against Harlequins at Twickenham Stoop in the Anglo-Welsh Cup on February 3.
Diamond will now appear before an RFU Disciplinary chaired by Sam Hillas on Wednesday at 6:30pm.
An RFU statement said: "Steve Diamond of Sale Sharks will appear before an RFU Disciplinary panel charged with conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union and/or the Game, contrary to RFU Rule 5.12.
"Following the conclusion of the Anglo-Welsh Cup match between Harlequins and Sale on Friday 3 February, the Sale Director of Rugby is alleged to have verbally abused the match officials."
