TJ Ioane signs new contract at Sale Sharks

Sale Sharks have announced back row TJ Ioane has signed a new three-year contract with the Aviva Premiership club.

The Samoa international, who joined Sharks in 2015 on an initial short-term deal, has played 24 games for Sale and scored six tries.

Ioane played Super Rugby with the Highlanders and provincial rugby with Otago before joining the Premiership club.

The 27-year-old, who can also play No 8, made his international debut for Samoa against Canada in the 2014 European tour and earned his second cap in the loss to England at Twickenham.

"TJ has been a revelation since he joined us," Sale Sharks' director of rugby Steve Diamond said. "He is an uncompromising player who gets through a massive workload in every game he plays. He also has an eye for the tryline.
