Nick Evans has been appointed as Harlequins attack coach following his recent retirement from playing rugby.

The former All Black hung up his boots earlier this month after a 17-year professional career during which he won 16 caps for New Zealand and become Quins' record point scorer, amassing 2,249 points from 208 appearances.

Over the last two years, Evans has been coaching Wimbledon RFC and oversaw their promotion to National 2 last season.

"My role now is to make the players and the team better. We have a fantastic group of players, and a brilliant coaching group. I am really looking forward to working hard and pushing on from last season to be the best we can be."

Harlequins director of rugby John Kingston added: "I am delighted that Nick has agreed the offer to join the Harlequins coaching team following his recent retirement.
