Newcastle Falcons have agreed a permanent deal to sign Dominic Waldouck after he impressed during his trial spell with the club.

Waldouck spent most of the summer playing for American side Ohio Aviators in the USA's inaugural Pro Rugby competition, joining Newcastle in August on an initial month's trial.

He has been named on the replacements' bench for the Falcons' opening two Aviva Premiership matches of the season.

The 28-year-old former England Saxons centre already has more than a century of Premiership appearances under his belt after previous spells with Wasps, Northampton Saints and London Irish.

Newcastle director of rugby Dean Richards has been impressed by the contribution of the experienced midfield man, saying: "Dom has shown up well and we are delighted to have been able to bring him on board full-time.
