Eddie Jones has retained all 34 members of his England squad on their return home from a training camp in Portugal.

England have assembled at their Pennyhill Park base in Surrey ahead of the opening Old Mutual Wealth Series match against South Africa at Twickenham on Saturday.

That means the 33 players originally called up are joined by Sale forward Josh Beaumont, who was added to the squad as cover for the injured Courtney Lawes.

Lawes has until Tuesday to prove his fitness after a knee injury, while Mako Vunipola is recovering from a hip complaint.

Beaumont, whose only international appearance was in a non-cap match with the Barbarians, is one of a number of uncapped players who could get the chance to impress Jones.

Harlequins prop Kyle Sinckler, Bath lock Charlie Ewels, Wasps No 8 Nathan Hughes, Saracens fly-half Alex Lozowski, Sale full-back Mike Haley and Worcester forward Ben Te'o are all aiming for their first cap.

Jones will name his final squad on Thursday for a match which sees England go for their first win over the Springboks since 2006.
